Carved Porcelain Paint Palette

This porcelain paint palette with an inspiring Picasso quote stamped around the edge was entirely hand carved. I then perfected the form by smoothing it and stamped the words: “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist – Pablo Picasso” around the edge. After the piece slow dried, I bisque fired it to 1046 degrees Celsius and then glazed it with a studio clear glossy glaze and glaze fired it to 1220 degrees Celsius.

This palette can be used with any paint and can be cleaned with water, turpentine or other paint thinners without damaging the glazed surface. It has a hole so that it can be hung out of the way in the studio if you so choose or left looking pretty on a table. This is a unique and extremely useful gift for yourself or an art-loving friend.
