Handmade with care from high-quality porcelain-like stoneware, this ceramic texture stamp set includes 5 stamps, featuring water lilies and lily pads. These stamps are particularly suited to be paired with the koi fish stamp sets.
Each stamp design is first sculpted by hand in clay and the intricate details are added. From there, plaster moulds are created and used to cast each piece in fine, cone 10 stoneware. After casting, every stamp is carefully refined by hand, going back over every detail to ensure it will produce a crisp impression, and smoothing out its contour.
A natural cork handle is added to the back for ease of use. For the larger stamps, I recommend first pressing it down into the clay by the handle, and then pressing down on corners of the ceramic stamp to ensure that the whole of the stamp’s surface is recorded on your slab. To preserve the impression, remove the stamp by pulling it directly upwards by the handle.
The stoneware clay chosen for these stamps is exceptionally fine and dense, making it ideal for capturing and retaining intricate surface details – ensuring each impression you make is sharp and defined.
Fired to cone 3, these stamps are strong, durable and slightly absorbent, making them ideal for clay work – firm enough to last but absorbent enough to prevent sticking.
As each stamp is handmade, small variations may occur, but your set will closely match the designs and dimensions shown in the product images.
