Israel Pendant Necklace with White Gold & Crystalline Glaze

This blue, crystalline Israel pendant necklace was hand made from porcelain in my studio in central Israel. It has 24k white gold accents and has a lovely opalescence when it catches the light at certain angles. It is finished in a crystalline glaze that I make in my studio. It was fired 3 times, first to 1000 degrees Celsius, then glaze fired for 18 hours to 1300 degrees Celsius. After hand painting the 24k white gold contour, I fired it again to 840 degrees, to seal on the gold. The formation of the 2 dimensional, silicate crystals is unique and irreplicable and this piece has a slightly opalescent finish at some angles. After the pendant was completed, I hung it from a Sterling Silver chain, with Sterling Silver fittings. To preserve the gold and the luminosity of the crystalline glaze, it is not advised to bathe while wearing it.
