Lovers Sculpture Wall Hanging

This lovers sculpture wall hanging was hand-built and sculpted from high-fire stoneware. I first created the slab of clay, spending a lot of time compressing it well (as flat pieces have a tendency to crack in the kiln.) I then sculpted the two faces, after which I created the raised texture from pressing different lacy fabrics into the clay. There’s a ridge in the back at the top which you could run a wire through for hanging it, or (preferably), you could secure two substantial nails in the wall, and slide them through the holes towards the top of the piece.
