Star Of David Bowl

My Star of David bowl was hand built from high fire stoneware. It could be used for serving hot or cold food, or to hold keys etc on a shelf.

At the start of this terrible time, it was important to me as an artist to visually express my love for our Homeland and for our People. I thought of this motif of interconnected Stars of David, as a way to symbolize our interconnectivity, our perseverance and our strength. I carved the pattern into a piece of linoleum and then used it to make the raised pattern in porcelain and stoneware clay. I created a collection of pieces using this raised texture, including this bowl.

The collection includes 2 mugs, an assortment of stoneware trays, a serving plate, a large Channukah Menorah, a Havdallah Set, a Modular Passover Plate and a large, porcelain serving platter. All of the pieces are dishwasher safe but I do recommend hand washing hand-made ceramics.
