Star Of David Platter

This Star of David bowl platter was hand built from porcelain. I designed it as a matza tray to go with my Modular Passover Plate, but it could also be used for serving other food, or as a tray for your Shabbat Candles.

At the start of this terrible time, it was important to me as an artist to visually express my love for our Homeland and for our People. I thought of this motif of interconnected Stars of David, as a way to symbolize our interconnectivity, our perseverance and our strength. I carved the pattern into a piece of linoleum and then used it to make the raised pattern in porcelain and stoneware clay. I created a collection of pieces using this raised texture, including this platter.

The collection includes 2 mugs, an assortment of stoneware trays, a serving plate and bowl, a large Channukah Menorah, a Havdallah Set, and a Modular Passover Plate. All of the pieces are dishwasher safe but I do recommend hand washing hand-made ceramics.
