Cobalt Crystalline Pendant Necklace and Earring Set

This cobalt crystalline pendant necklace and earrings set were hand made from porcelain. They were finished in a crystalline glaze that I make in my studio. They were fired 3 times, first to 1000 degrees Celsius, then glaze fired for 18 hours to 1300 degrees Celsius. After hand painting the 24k gold contours, I fired them again to 840 degrees, to seal on the gold. The formation of the 2 dimensional, silicate crystals are unique and irreplicable. After the pendants were completed, I attached them to a gold fill chain, with gold fill fittings, and to gold fill earrings. The back of the pendant and earrings are natural, white porcelain with my initials, NTM carved into them. To preserve the gold and the luminosity of the crystalline glaze, it is not advised to bathe while wearing them.
