Crystalline Shell Platter

My crystalline shell platter was hand built from high-fire stoneware. It has a gorgeous glaze finish created by layering a few of the crystalline glazes I make in my studio. The underside has the grooves found in seashells impressed into the clay, and these grooves are subtly present through the glaze. The fine ‘crackle’ effect in the glaze is an integral part of the glaze. This is a decorative platter (not intended for serving food) and would look gorgeous on a shelf, or sitting on any surface. I imagine it in a beautiful bathroom with hand made soaps or bath bombs displayed in its centre, or on a kitchen counter or a table with fruit on it…whatever tickles your fancy!
